Very fine miniature portrait on ivory,
oval, framed, aperture 7.1cm by 5.7cm, frame 13.3cm by 11.8cm

Possibly an artillery officer of the Banner of Saxon Volunteers (Banner der freiwilligen Sachsen, 1813-1814), or an officer of the Chevau-Légers de la Garde Royale de Joseph Bonaparte in Spain (my sincere thanks to Dr. Dimitri Gorchkoff who very kindly gave his opinion on the uniform)
